Color Guard Membership

Membership selection is by audition.  All students currently enrolled in or transferring to Broken Arrow Schools, with required documentation, in grades 8-11 are eligible to audition. Past members auditioning for another year must be clear of all financial obligations from the years prior.  There is not a specified number of members from each grade level suggested or required.

Practices and Summer Camp:  Practices will be scheduled by the coach/sponsor during the calendar year. Color guard member attendance is required at all scheduled practices as set forth by the coach/sponsor during the year. Since this group is under the umbrella of the Band program the rules and regulations of that organization will apply. Auditions are held in the Spring, which begins the season rehearsals and runs through the end of Semester 1. Spring training begins at the start of Semester 2 and runs through auditions. Summer rehearsals are mandatory for all members, Members must be dressed in the proper attire at the time of roll call. Black rehearsal tanks and shorts are the appropriate dress for color guard practice. Athletic shoes and socks are required when outdoors.  Calendars are provided for planning and e-mail notices help with reminders and changes to the schedule.

Financial Obligations:  All members are responsible for the financial obligations set forth by the Broken Arrow Bands program. Fundraiser’s are conducted through out the year for members and parents to assist with these endeavors. Trip accounts are set up for students as a way to track and save for their fee schedules. These financial obligations include things but are not limited to food, travel, lodging, uniform costs, member t-shirts, shoes, etc. First time members will have a few additional costs for items only needed to be purchased at the time of their 1st year of membership.
