Loren Pettys began teaching in Broken Arrow in 2004. He currently serves as Director of Bands at Centennial Middle School. Prior to coming to Broken Arrow, he served in Sapulpa Public Schools and at First Christian Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

For over 27 years, Mr. Pettys’ ensembles have consistently received Superior ratings at both district and state contests. In 2013, his Centennial Middle School Advanced Band was selected to perform as an Honor Ensemble at the Oklahoma Music Educators Association Convention. Personally, Mr. Pettys was chosen the 1989 ASBDA Outstanding Young Band Director for the State of Oklahoma, the 2008 Legacy of Compassion Award winner and was the 2009 Teacher of the Year Award winner at Centennial Middle School and Teacher of the Year Finalist for Broken Arrow Public Schools. He is also a NAJE Louis Bellson Award recipient.

Mr. Pettys enjoys performing with the Tulsa Signature Symphony and the Tulsa Starlight Band.
