Kyle Smith began his teaching career in Broken Arrow in 2012 after earning his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Wind Conducting degrees from Oklahoma State University. Mr. Smith currently serves as Director of Bands at the Broken Arrow Freshmen Academy.

Mr. Smith was a performing member of the Oklahoma State University Wind Ensemble and performed for the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) national convention in 2009 and the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OMEA) conventions in 2008 and 2011. He was a member of the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008.

Mr. Smith is a member of the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association (OBA), serves as Vice-President for the Northeast Band Directors Association of Oklahoma (NBDA), and is an alumni member of the Alpha Chapters of Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi.
