Abby Bruce joined the Broken Arrow band staff in 2024 as the head director at Childers Middle School. In addition to this role, she enjoyed working with the Pride of Broken Arrow during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Prior to coming to Broken Arrow, Mrs. Bruce was a band director at Western Heights Public Schools in Oklahoma City and at Union Public Schools in Tulsa.

Mrs. Bruce graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University in 2010 with a bachelors degree in Music Education. She went on to receive her masters degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Wind Conducting from the University of Oklahoma in 2013. Her groups have consistently received superior ratings at competitions and she was awarded the Phi Beta Mu Young Bandmaster Award in 2015.

Mrs. Bruce enjoys performing and subs with local groups in the Tulsa area, including the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and the Starlight Band.
