Adam Wiencken began teaching at Broken Arrow in 2011. He currently serves as Percussion Specialist for the district and directs the Jazz 1 Ensemble at Broken Arrow High School. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana.

The accolades and accomplishments of Mr. Wiencken’s ensembles are extensive. As Director of Percussion and Battery Arranger for the Pride of Broken Arrow Marching Band, the ensemble is the 2011 and 2015 Bands of America Grand National Champion and 2012 and 2014 Bands of America Grand National Runner-Up. They were the 2014 Bands of America Class AAAA National Champion. His Jazz 1 Ensemble has been selected to perform as an Honor Ensemble at the Oklahoma Music Educators Association State Conference in January 2016.

Mr. Wiencken has served as a percussion staff member at The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps since 2013. In 2013, The Cadets were the Drum Corps International Fred Sanford Award for High Percussion Performance. He previously served on the instructional staff for the Santa Clara Vanguard, Troopers, and Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps. Mr. Wiencken is an alumnus of the Madison Scouts and the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.

Mr. Wiencken is an Educational Artist for Innovative Percussion, Inc., Evans Drumheads, MEINL Percussion and is an active percussion arranger and adjudicator throughout the United States.
